The Wife and I spent a few days on Procida recently, and stayed in a lovely apartment in Corricella with a balcony that overlooked the harbour. We had several stunningly beautiful lunches & dinners and, immediately, fell in love with a local speciality - the traditional lemon salad. On Procida, lemons are huge & knobbly, the white pith is especially thick and they're far sweeter than any we can get back in the UK. Peeled & cut into cubes, the lemons are tossed in olive oil (barely infused with garlic) and garnished with spring onions, a little bit of red chilli and fresh mint - spectacular! I ate it at three separate meals, but the best was during a delightful long lunch on the May Day holiday at La Gorgonia. I also took the time to work my way through an enormous fritto misto de mare - exceptionally well-priced at just €18. Well done La Gorgonia

Great value for money!
We found ourselves very well, especially for the excellent fish frying.
The staff was very friendly.
Hateful welcome bordering on rudeness, very average and expensive cuisine, location does not save the rest

We had spotted this address a stone's throw from our hotel, on the backpacker's guide. In addition, the poster of the routar 2026 is in A4 format on the door of the restaurant, we can not miss it...
Arrived a little early, it is true (6:50 pm), but wanting to reserve a table by the port, we were very poorly received by a gentleman who did not deign to get up from his chair, did not say hello to us , and had trouble looking at us, to show us his watch and say to us without kindness: "not before 7 pm". Not discouraged, I said to him with a smile: "Can we sit and wait ( 10 minutes, it can be managed....)?" Always kind, he tells me that yes if I want but that we will not be served (yes, I understood). And pointing to me with a chin, always kind, he said to the waitress, "She wants a table near the port." It's true that my Italian is very average and that we quickly realize that I don't yet master, but there I understood.
As for the kitchen no better, the spaghetti were literally bathed in a tasteless tomato sauce probably not homemade, or the cook must recycle. Moreover they were really hard (I know the difference between al dente and undercooked...).
I will tell this gentleman, that displaying the backpacker is not enough to satisfy the customers, if the welcome and the cuisine do not follow, the customers do not return. Besides, it was the first evening of our stay on the beautiful island of Procida, we passed every day, several times a day in front of this restaurant, but neither my husband nor I wanted to stop there.
Only the two young people at the service, were friendly and it is for them that I do not put the minimum grade.

The restaurant is a real gem for lovers of seafood. The sea urchin speciality is simply exceptional. Octopus tartare also does not disappoint, with a unique freshness and delicacy. It also pleasantly surprises the house wine, which stands out for its superior quality, managing to compete with some of the most renowned wines around.
